The University of Texas at Arlington is committed to preparing students for entry-level jobs in the medical field by offering nurse aide training programs as well as patient care technician courses. Throughout the two hundred hours of classroom lecture and laboratory practice the student is familiarized with basic care concepts and fundamental principles of client care. Theoretical instruction is augmented by hands-on clinical practice of nurse aide skills that are thought during one hundred and seventy hours of direct patient care in a nursing facility. The University of Texas awards a certificate of completion to students who graduate from the nurse aide program. Among other things, a high school diploma and current immunizations are required for enrollment in the CNA program.
