The Nursing Assistant Diploma program offered by Anamarc Educational Institute is a 600 clock hours (26.5 semester credit hours) course that prepares individuals to be nursing assistants. The nursing assistant program teaches the concepts and skills necessary to provide basic patient care in a health care facility or in the homes of patients. The program also teaches the skills required to pass the Nurse Assistant Texas State Certification and secures a spot on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry. Did you know that as a graduate of a nursing assistant program you will be able to communicate and interact effectively with patients, assist patients in attaining and maintaining maximum functional independence, while at the same time observing the rights of patients? In addition, you will learn how to perform basic first aid, CPR, take vital signs, apply the elements of basic nutrition in meal planning, and follow infection control measures. Furthermore, you will be able to apply proper body mechanics in bed making, lifting, and turning patients. Graduates of nursing assistant programs may find entry-level employment as a Nursing Assistant with hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies.
